It is with great sadness we share with you the passing of our dear colleague
Derrick Owens.
Derrick worked for Citi for 15 years, joining our Buffalo office in 2007. He
worked in our Operations unit and our WorldLink FX team while in Buffalo. In 2020 Derrick moved to New York to help form the inaugural combined WorldLink/Markets TFX team in NAM. In this role Derrick was instrumental in building our Markets and TTS cross border payments partnership.
Derrick had a love for life, friendship and sport. He was great company,
great fun, the best colleague. He built strong bonds with all he worked with, his passing has left us with an enormous sense of loss.

Thoughts
I've had the pleasure of working with Derrick, on the FX team and as a partner, over 7-8 years. He always addressed me as 'Mark' or 'bud' and was always willing to go above and beyond to help. As someone based across the bid pond in Dublin, I never met Derrick in person. But I know how highly his colleagues in both New York and Buffalo regarded him. A very friendly, kind, thoughtful gentleman - I'm glad I got to get to know Derrick and as a result I am qualified to know how he will be missed by so many. Rest well, my friend, until we again meet.

Derrick was a very estimated colleague and was always there to help us over so many years . He was very kind and he will be missed but you will always stay in our mind . My prayers and condolences are with his family and friends. May he rest in Peace.

Derrick was one of a kind; Never upset, always upbeat, cheerful and ready to help out... when working with him I never took away the impression it was just for the moment. He always made you feel valued and appreciated for the long haul. What a guy! why him?? We will always miss you Derrick Owens... rest in peace dear friend
